Key Responsibilities: The following duties are essential and may include, but are not limited to:

Transportation & Delivery
  • Delivers bulk feed according to established specifications.
  • Maintains safe and courteous driving practices at all times.
  • Adheres to all DOT, OSHA, and NEW Cooperative safety protocols and procedures.
  • Ensures product quality is upheld prior to unloading.
  • Gains a thorough understanding of the customer's livestock operations to minimize delivery errors.
  • Completes all driving logs and documentation accurately and promptly.
Equipment Maintenance
  • Conducts routine maintenance on vehicles to prevent the spread of livestock diseases.
  • Regularly inspects truck compartments for feed residue between deliveries.
  • Follows established procedures to prevent cross-contamination of products.
  • Performs or coordinates repairs and preventative maintenance on vehicles and equipment.
  • Maintains cleanliness of all equipment to enhance the company’s image.
  • Ensures that the work area, equipment, and vehicles are kept tidy and well-maintained.
Additional Duties
  • Utilizes all tools and equipment safely and for their intended purposes.
  • Assists in various tasks around the location as required.
  • May work extended hours as requested by supervisors during peak seasons to ensure excellent customer service.
Qualifications & Requirements:
  • Must possess a valid and insurable driver's license.
  • Must have or be able to obtain a Class A CDL (Commercial Driver's License).
  • Must pass a D.O.T. physical examination every two years as mandated by law.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to high levels of customer service.
  • High school diploma or GED with 1-3 months of relevant experience.
  • Must own and be proficient in using a smartphone.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to apply common sense to follow instructions provided in various formats.
  • Understands the seasonal nature of the farm supply industry and the associated time commitments.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate and interact with customers and staff at all levels.
  • Possesses problem-solving skills and understands operational processes.
