Funeral Ambassador

We are seeking a Funeral Ambassador to join our team at Park Lawn Memorial Group, LLC. As a Funeral Ambassador, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our client families and their guests receive exceptional service and support during the funeral and memorialization process.

• Greets and directs client families and their guests to the correct chapel in which services are being held.
• Directs visitors to the guest book and distributes memorialization materials as needed.
• Answers questions and assists with serving the needs of the client families, their guests, and other visitors during the visitation and memorialization event.
• Receives and places flowers in chapels.
• Ensures refreshments are available to client families and their guests.
• Ensures that public spaces such as the lobby, chapels, restrooms, and reception/rest areas are clean and prepared prior to, and at the conclusion of, scheduled services.
• Oversees parking area and ensures family and ceremonial vehicles are arranged for formal procession.
• Assists with directing and/or transporting families and service attendees to and from service locations outside of the funeral home.
• Actively serves as an ambassador of the business in the community to build trust and loyalty.
• Represents the business in a professional, honest, and ethical manner at all times.
• Maintains a professional personal appearance and demeanor while performing duties or representing the business.

• Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
• At least 1-year experience in funeral arranging preferred.
• Able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Bilingual is a plus.
• Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
• Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
• Ability to actively respond to the requests of the client families and their guests.
• Tactful and professional when dealing with complaints or dissatisfaction with services or merchandise.
• Maintains a positive attitude and working environment through organization and communication.
• Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects, prioritizes tasks, and exercise good judgment.
• Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.

The Funeral Ambassador will work in an indoor office setting, with some outdoor duties required. The position may involve exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes. The employee will be required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Performance of this position's duties may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling. Employees may be exposed to chemicals and/or blood-borne pathogens. Exposure risk is considered: Low.

This position may require up to 10 percent out-of-area and overnight travel. Travel is primarily local, occurring during the business day only.
