At Park Lawn Memorial Group, LLC., we are seeking a Funeral Ambassador to join our team. As a Funeral Ambassador, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our clients receive exceptional service and support during their time of need.
Job SummaryThe Funeral Ambassador will be responsible for greeting and directing client families and their guests, answering questions, and assisting with serving the needs of the client families, their guests, and other visitors during the visitation and memorialization event. This role requires a high level of customer service orientation, communication proficiency, and teamwork orientation.
Key Responsibilities- Greet and direct client families and their guests to the correct chapel in which services are being held.
- Direct visitors to the guest book and distribute memorialization materials as needed.
- Answer questions and assist with serving the needs of the client families, their guests, and other visitors during the visitation and memorialization event.
- Receive and place flowers in chapels.
- Ensure refreshments are available to client families and their guests.
- Ensure that public spaces such as lobby, chapels, restrooms, and reception/rest areas are clean and prepared prior to, and at the conclusion of, scheduled services.
- Oversee parking area and ensure family and ceremonial vehicles are arranged for formal procession.
- Assist with directing and/or transporting families and service attendees to and from service locations outside of the funeral home.
- Actively serve as an ambassador of the business in the community to build trust and loyalty.
- Represent the business in a professional, honest, and ethical manner at all times.
- Maintain a professional personal appearance and demeanor while performing duties or representing the business.
- Four-year degree or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- At least 1-year experience in funeral arranging preferred.
- Able to read, write, and speak English fluently. Bilingual is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external customers.
- Ability to empathize with client families and their guests and demonstrate tact and patience in emotionally charged situations.
- Ability to actively respond to the requests of the client families and their guests.
- Tactful and professional when dealing with complaints or dissatisfaction with services or merchandise.
- Maintains a positive attitude and working environment through organization and communication.
- Ability to simultaneously handle multiple projects, prioritize tasks, and exercise good judgment.
- Ability to work independently with little or no supervision.
The Funeral Ambassador will work in an indoor office setting, with some outdoor duties required. The role may involve exposure to natural elements such as inclement weather, extreme temperatures, uneven ground, dust, gas, and/or fumes. The employee will be required to climb, sit, stand, bend, kneel, and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Performance of this position's duties may also require reaching, pushing, and pulling. Employees may be exposed to chemicals and/or blood-borne pathogens. Exposure risk is considered: Low.
TravelThis position may require up to 10 percent out-of-area and overnight travel. Travel is primarily local, occurring during the business day only.
