Position Summary

The Ambassador is responsible for various tasks during the memorial and funeral process, assisting Funeral Directors and other staff to ensure services are conducted smoothly and that the expectations of client families and their guests are met.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome and guide client families and their guests to the appropriate service area.
  • Direct visitors to the guest book and provide memorial materials as necessary.
  • Address inquiries and assist with the needs of client families, their guests, and other visitors during the memorial event.
  • Receive and arrange floral tributes in the service areas.
  • Ensure refreshments are available for client families and their guests.
  • Maintain cleanliness and readiness of public spaces such as lobbies, chapels, restrooms, and reception areas before and after scheduled services.
  • Oversee parking arrangements and ensure family and ceremonial vehicles are organized for formal processions.
  • Assist in transporting families and attendees to and from service locations.
  • Drive the hearse, family limousine, or other vehicles during the funeral procession.
  • Actively represent the business within the community to foster trust and loyalty.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor and appearance while performing duties or representing the organization.
  • Other responsibilities as assigned.

Education and Experience

  • Previous experience in funeral services is preferred but not mandatory.
  • A valid state-issued driver's license in good standing with an acceptable driving record.

  • Fluency in English is required; bilingual candidates are a plus.
  • Professional and courteous conduct in accordance with employer expectations.
  • Willingness to engage in community involvement to enhance market presence.
  • Ability to empathize with client families and their guests, demonstrating patience in emotionally sensitive situations.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

  • Most duties are performed in an indoor office setting, with some responsibilities outdoors.
  • Outdoor tasks may involve exposure to various weather conditions and environments.
  • Regular tasks may include climbing, sitting, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting up to 25 pounds.
  • Potential exposure to chemicals and/or bloodborne pathogens, with a low risk classification.
  • Overtime may be required occasionally.
