Key Responsibilities- Develop and administer a construction curriculum that aligns with school district goals and objectives.
- Create engaging lesson plans and instructional materials that challenge students and maximize instructional time.
- Teach construction techniques, including carpentry, masonry, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems, as well as construction management and safety protocols.
- Promote students' understanding of construction tools, materials, and industry standards.
- Encourage critical thinking about construction practices, project planning, and the ethical implications of construction work.
- Develop students' problem-solving skills, technical proficiency, and capacity to work collaboratively on construction projects.
- Promote students' ability to evaluate and use various construction tools and equipment safely and effectively.
- Conduct ongoing assessments of student learning and progress, adapting instructional methods to meet individual student needs.
- Continuously acquire professional knowledge and stay updated on current developments in construction technology and education.
- Organize and maintain accurate records of student performance, grading, and attendance.
- Encourage parental involvement in students' education and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
- Ensure that student conduct aligns with school standards and district policies, establishing and maintaining a conducive learning environment.
- Coordinate with other professional staff, participate in faculty meetings and committees, and collaborate on interdisciplinary projects.
- Select and requisition appropriate instructional materials and resources.
- Tennessee State Certification as a CTE Construction Teacher or willingness to obtain endorsement.
- Relevant industry certifications.
- Motor Vehicle Operator's License or the ability to provide own transportation.

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education, construction management, or a related discipline applicable to the teaching assignment.
- Successful prior teaching experience for the appropriate grade level preferred.
- Relevant industry experience in the construction field required.
- Works in standard office and school building environments, as well as on construction project sites.
