Job Summary

We are seeking an Emergency Medical Technician to join our team at Kettering Health.

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing the extent of illness or injury, administering initial treatment, and transporting patients to treatment centers.

They will also communicate with physicians and other medical personnel via radio and telephone, complete patient care and billing reports, and maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Assess the extent of illness or injury and establish and prioritize medical procedures.
  • Administer initial treatment at emergency scenes.
  • Assist in extricating trapped victims and transporting sick and injured persons to treatment centers.
  • Communicate with physicians and other medical personnel via radio and telephone.
  • Complete patient care and billing reports.
  • Display a working knowledge of service areas, including facility locations, local regulations, and procedures.
  • Ability to properly use all company-provided medical equipment.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations and sensitive company and employee information.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Current State of Ohio EMS certification.
  • CPR certification.
  • Valid driver's license with no more than four points and approval by company insurance provider.
  • Annual proctored skills and written protocol testing without lapse.
