Key Responsibilities

The selected candidate will engage in a Hardware in the Loop laboratory that executes real-time simulations, currently utilizing a MATLAB/Simulink framework with plans to transition to real-time Red Hawk Linux. Specific duties include:
  • Providing advanced knowledge in electrical engineering practices and hardware integration initiatives.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in software control mechanisms for motion systems and real-time simulation applications.
  • Quickly assimilating new hardware functionalities and developing corresponding control software.
Required Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with an MS/MA; or 3 years with a Ph.D.
  • Active Top Secret Clearance with the capability to secure TS/SCI.
  • US Citizenship.
  • A solid foundation in electrical and computer engineering, particularly in controls software.
  • Understanding of real-time simulation software and hardware environments.
  • Experience in constructing and evaluating electrical subsystems for analog and digital I/O applications, emphasizing real-time simulation.
  • Ability to integrate various camera technologies into a comprehensive simulation environment using USB, SERIAL, TCP/IP, and other relevant communication protocols.
  • Experience in hardware integration from diverse vendors and utilizing SDKs and operational guides for seamless integration into the primary simulation GUI.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory equipment such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, and signal I/O devices.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SIMULINK, C/C++/C#, or Python for software/hardware integration and image processing.
  • Knowledge of WPF, APP DESIGNER/GUIDE, or PyQt for GUI development.
  • Familiarity with ETHERCAT protocol.
  • Capability to produce technical documentation using MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to be present onsite five days a week.
Desired Skills

Preferred qualifications include:
  • Experience with Thorlabs and FLIR cameras.
  • Expertise in SBIR MIRAGE and other image projection systems.
  • Proficiency in real-time simulation environments.
  • Experience with motion table software controls.
  • Familiarity with camera SDKs, APIs, and other development kits for custom software creation.
  • TS/SCI clearance.
