Key Responsibilities

As part of our Hardware in the Loop laboratory, you will engage in real-time simulations, currently utilizing a MATLAB/Simulink framework with a strategic plan to transition to real-time Red Hawk Linux. Your contributions will include:
  • Offering advanced knowledge in electrical engineering principles and hardware integration processes.
  • Demonstrating proficiency in various software control methodologies for motion systems and real-time simulation applications.
  • Rapidly acquiring new hardware system functionalities and developing corresponding control software.
Essential Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must possess:
  • A minimum of 8 years of experience with a BS/BA; 6 years with an MS/MA; or 3 years with a Ph.D.
  • Relevant experience may substitute for formal educational credentials.
  • An active Top Secret Clearance with the capability to obtain TS/SCI.
  • U.S. Citizenship is mandatory.
  • A solid foundation in electrical and computer engineering, particularly in controls software.
  • An understanding of real-time simulation software and hardware environments.
  • Experience in constructing and evaluating electrical subsystems for both analog and digital I/O applications, focusing on real-time simulation settings.
  • Capability to integrate diverse camera types into a comprehensive simulation framework using USB, SERIAL, TCP/IP, and other pertinent communication protocols.
  • Experience in harmonizing hardware from various manufacturers and utilizing SDKs and operational guides for integration into the primary simulation GUI.
  • Familiarity with standard laboratory instruments such as power supplies, oscilloscopes, waveform generators, and signal I/O devices.
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, SIMULINK, C/C++/C#, or Python for software/hardware integration and image processing.
  • Experience with WPF, APP DESIGNER/GUIDE, or PyQt for GUI development.
  • Knowledge of ETHERCAT protocol.
  • Strong technical documentation skills in MS Word and PowerPoint.
  • Willingness to be present onsite five days a week.
Preferred Skills

Additional skills that would be advantageous include:
  • Experience with Thorlabs and FLIR cameras.
  • Expertise in SBIR MIRAGE and other image projection technologies.
  • In-depth knowledge of real-time simulation environments.
  • Proficiency in motion table software controls.
  • Experience utilizing camera SDKs, APIs, and other development kits to create tailored software solutions.
  • Possession of TS/SCI clearance.

Compensation Range

The typical salary range for this position is $112,000 - $179,000, reflecting the expected compensation based on experience and other relevant factors.
