About the Opportunity

Corewell Health is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN to join our Progressive Care Surgical team at Dearborn Hospital. As a member of our team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with surgeons and surgical residents to provide high-quality care to patients recovering from abdominal surgery.

Unit Overview

Our 32-bed surgical unit is dedicated to providing exceptional care to patients requiring post-operative care. We foster a collaborative and supportive environment, with a strong focus on teamwork and open communication. Our team includes certified preceptors, dietitians, social workers, and other multidisciplinary professionals who work together to provide comprehensive care to our patients.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional nursing care to patients recovering from abdominal surgery, utilizing the framework of the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, surgical residents, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction.
  • Document patient education and learning in the electronic health record.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree in nursing required; Bachelor's degree in nursing required within 5 years.
  • MI Registered Nurse (RN) license required.
  • AHA or ARC Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required upon hire.
  • Specialty certification highly recommended within 2 years.
