Role Summary:

The Manufacturing Technician I is tasked with transforming raw materials into finished diagnostic products, specifically focusing on the production of molecular diagnostic devices. This role is pivotal in executing processes, maintaining operational efficiency, and managing various administrative responsibilities under the guidance of senior manufacturing staff.


Key Duties:
  1. Assemble and manufacture commercial diagnostic products, with an emphasis on flow-through cassette components.
  2. Operate automated systems for processing raw materials and managing production workflows.
  3. Identify and communicate any equipment or facility concerns to the Supervisor.
  4. Ensure compliance with safety protocols, cGMP, SOP, and documentation standards.
  5. Prepare, fill, label, and package solutions for production and distribution.
  6. Conduct both routine and non-routine production tasks.
  7. Maintain accurate records and update inventory systems.
  8. Clean and maintain production equipment and workspaces.
  9. Support the verification, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes and equipment.

Qualifications:

Education: A Bachelor's Degree in Biology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, or a related discipline, with 0-3 years of relevant experience. Candidates with a High School Diploma or equivalent and over 5 years of laboratory experience in the biotech or biopharma sectors will also be considered.

Experience: Familiarity with laboratory equipment (e.g., pipettes, spectrometers) and the ability to perform repetitive tasks in a manufacturing environment.

Skills: Strong computer proficiency, excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational abilities. Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies is advantageous.

Additional Requirements: Must be detail-oriented and capable of performing repetitive tasks within a small team setting.


Team Dynamics:

The manufacturing team comprises 13-15 members divided into four specialized groups: PCR team, Veriflow cassette assembly, Buffer team, and Components team. This position is primarily focused on the Components team, which handles upstream preparation, conjugations, control testing, drying processes, and quality control of components.
