Job Title: Pharmacy Technician Sterile Products Specialist

Children's Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP) is seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician Sterile Products Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the preparation and distribution of compounded sterile products to our patients.

Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and dispense compounded sterile products under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Maintain high standards for quality and control of processes, components, and environments to prevent harm to patients.
  • Ensure accurate identification, measurement, reconstitution, dilution, mixing, sterilization, packaging, labeling, and storage of compounded sterile products.
  • Verify prepared CSPs with a pharmacist for accuracy and sterility.
  • Comply with federal, state, and department standards and regulations for sterile product compounding.
  • Complete aseptic technique training and pass competency tests.
  • Execute patient-specific daily batch SVP production, medication delivery, and RIVA batch production as per CHOP Pharmacy SOP.
  • Ensure accurate inventory control, including rotation, storage, and reordering of medications.
  • Securely store narcotics and other controlled substances and document transactions accurately.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in a pharmacy setting, preferably in sterile compounding.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
