Overview

The Town of Clayton is actively seeking qualified candidates for the position of Customer Service Specialist within the Customer Service Department. This role is vital to ensuring effective communication and support for residents and businesses alike.

Key Responsibilities

An individual in this role will be responsible for providing front-line support, administrative assistance, and account management. The position involves significant interaction with the public through various channels including phone, in-person, and email. Essential skills include tact, courtesy, and the ability to resolve conflicts effectively. Familiarity with customer service policies and procedures is crucial. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • Creating new customer accounts, processing applications, and ensuring completeness.
  • Closing customer accounts and coordinating final meter readings.
  • Responding to citizen inquiries and resolving issues using various resources.
  • Providing information on Town services, policies, and procedures.
  • Conducting outreach for programs aimed at energy efficiency and customer support.
  • Handling payments and managing accounts in accordance with established policies.

Qualifications

Applicants should possess a strong understanding of local policies and regulations, as well as standard practices in office operations and public service. Key qualifications include:
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

Education and Experience
