Position Overview:

The Surgical Technologist plays a crucial role in the operating room by executing a variety of responsibilities. This includes ensuring the cleanliness and operational efficiency of surgical services. The role encompasses patient care across a wide age range, from neonates to geriatrics. The Surgical Technologist is also responsible for orienting new staff to equipment and procedures, serving as a mentor to fellow technicians and students. This position upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of the MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: High school diploma or GED equivalent. Completion of an accredited Surgical Technology program and current certification. A minimum of one year of experience as a Surgical Technician.

Preferred: None

Physical Requirements: The role may involve sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating intermittently throughout the day. Candidates should be able to sit or stand for extended periods. Normal visual and auditory ranges are required, with or without correction. The ability to push/pull up to 350 pounds and lift up to 35 pounds is necessary. The position may involve exposure to communicable diseases, body fluids, and chemicals.
