The Fergus Falls Area Family YMCA is looking for a Financial Operations Specialist to support the Financial Controller in managing and overseeing all accounts payable functions. This role includes handling the internal corporate purchasing card statements, daily cash deposits, and maintaining the fixed asset management system, along with other assigned responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Organizes and maintains files related to daily deposit records.
  • Prepares and reconciles daily receipts and cash disbursements to facilitate bank deposits.
  • Ensures the accuracy of cash bags for front desk operations.
  • Completes a daily cash flow summary detailing receipts, disbursements, and overall cash flow balance.
  • Processes payments into the financial software for various departments.
  • Maintains comprehensive files related to accounts payable.
  • Inputs and categorizes all monthly invoices and purchases for payment processing, generating necessary verification reports.
  • Executes accounts payable checks and related reports.
  • Files all relevant documentation, including invoices and validated check requests, in the appropriate paid files.
  • Manages records related to purchasing card transactions.
  • Prepares and reconciles accounts payable transactions for all cardholders.
  • Maintains cardholder information for all active cards and establishes new users as needed.
  • Reconciles system credit reports and gift card accounts.
  • Responsible for sorting and distributing incoming mail at the designated site.
  • Handles the posting and preparation of all outgoing mail.
  • Monitors and orders office supplies as required for both back-office and individual staff needs.
  • Ensures compliance with IRS regulations for the maintenance and disposal of fiscal documentation.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:

1. Required Education and Experience:
  • Associate's Degree in Accounting with a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
2. Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting is preferred.
  • Proficient in computer applications, particularly Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce, Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy in data entry.
  • Highly organized with excellent time management skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to tailor messages to various audiences.
  • Capability to work effectively with diverse individuals and groups.
3. Additional Requirements:
  • Completion of 15 hours of basic childcare training within the first 90 days of employment.
  • CPR/FA Certification for Adult, Child, and Pediatrics within the first 90 days of employment.
