**Experience Level**: The Warsaw office has been operational since 2008, encompassing two primary business sectors: a rapidly expanding International Operations Centre (SSC) that provides asset and fund services across various European locations, and a local custody and clearing business that delivers comprehensive local clearing, settlement, and custody solutions for broker-dealers, global custodians, and investment banks in Poland.
**In light of new initiatives within BNP Paribas Securities Services in Poland**, we are eager to find candidates who are enthusiastic about contributing significantly to the growth of BNP Paribas's operational capabilities in Poland.
**As the Hedge Fund Accounting/Valuation Team Leader**, you will be an integral part of the Hedge Funds Accounting and Valuation team (A&V) within Alternative Funds Operations, tasked with leading the Valuation team and overseeing deliverables for our clientele.
This role presents a unique opportunity to engage in comprehensive end-to-end fund accounting and valuation processes.
****Key Responsibilities:****
- Lead a team of 8-10 members within the Hedge Fund Accounting Team.
- Provide expert technical support to the Hedge Fund Accounting Team.
- Oversee daily operations, management, and final review of complete NAV calculations.
- Enhance and refine NAV calculation workflows and procedures.
- Review fee calculations and profit and loss distributions.
- Ensure compliance with Fund Accounting requirements and adherence to established procedures.
- Alert local management regarding operational challenges.
- Manage and review the preparation of Management Information Systems (MIS).
- Collaborate with Senior Management and Risk to effectively manage controls and mitigate potential risks.
- Supervise daily team operations, including task allocation and workflow management.
- Oversee all internal and external audits, ensuring a favorable outcome.
- Respond to inquiries and requests promptly and professionally.
- Establish strong relationships across all levels within client organizations and inter-departmentally.
- Conduct annual performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback aligned with objectives for direct reports.
****Ideal Candidate Profile:****
- Possesses a minimum of a bachelor’s degree.
- Holds at least 5 years of relevant experience in Fund Accounting, Valuations, or a related field.
- Has a minimum of 1 year of experience in a team leadership role.
- Is fluent in English.
- Demonstrates proven skills in people management, delegation, and fostering team commitment.
- Exhibits experience in planning, initiating, and executing to achieve objectives.
- Has the ability to identify, recommend, and implement process improvements.
- Possesses strong IT skills, particularly in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Understands the Fund Accounting process well.
- Can work effectively and show initiative.
- Displays attention to detail and the ability to manage complexity.
- Possesses excellent communication skills and a strong client service orientation.
