Key Responsibilities:

- Perception Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert for perception functions, including sensing, prediction, and motion planning.
- Hardware and Software Development: Develop requirements and verification plans for perception hardware and software.
- Performance Metrics: Establish and track metrics for perception performance, including analysis and root cause identification.
- Use Cases and Scenarios: Define use cases and bounding scenarios that outline the limits of perception capabilities.
- Testing and Implementation: Collaborate with testing and triage teams to implement in-car tests and work with analytics, data science, and cloud computing teams to implement metrics at scale.
- Statistical Modeling: Develop statistical models for perception failures and provide recommendations.

Requirements:
- Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree in a related field (Computer Science, Electrical/Mechanical/Aerospace Engineering) or Master's degree with 2+ years of relevant experience.

- Professional Experience: Experience in a professional work environment where safety, honesty, procedure, and software testing are emphasized.
- Desire to Learn: Strong desire to learn new skills related to technology and software.
- Communication Skills: Excellent written communication skills.
- Attention to Detail: Detail-oriented mindset with a focus on safety and procedure.
- Independence: Ability to work independently or with minimal supervision.
- Travel: Willingness to travel to remote offices and test facilities as needed.
