About the Role

Raytheon is seeking a highly skilled Senior Systems Engineer to join our Advanced Airborne RF (AARF) Systems Engineering department in Goleta, California. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for determining product or system requirements, capturing them in specific documents, and ensuring they are clear, concise, and verifiable.

Responsibilities
  • Determine product or system requirements based on customer information and provide traceability to these requirements.
  • Decide how to capture requirements in specific documents such as specifications and interface control documents.
  • Ensure requirements are clear, concise, understandable, and verifiable.
  • Trace the flow of requirements between different parts of the program to ensure all areas have the complete information appropriate to their activity.
  • Ensure all requirement changes are assessed for impact to the overall system and subsystems and that implemented changes are tracked and controlled.
  • Selected candidate will be required to obtain and maintain special access program (SAP) clearance.
Requirements
  • Typically requires Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and five (5) years professional experience.
  • Experience with systems design and requirements engineering on EW/Radar programs.
  • Active and transferable Secret security clearance is required prior to start date. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Strong RF experience and knowledge of microwave modules.
  • Technical team leadership experience of minimum of three engineers.
  • Experience with Model Based Systems Engineering (Cameo Enterprise Architecture (SysML specifically), digital thread concepts, digital engineering, MBSE with DevSecOps).
  • Experience leading STE development (and prime hardware) test activities.
  • Experience with security requirements related to government testing.
  • Active DoD Top Secret clearance with investigation within five years.
