Opportunity:


Deliver exceptional health care services to patients in both clinic and hospital environments under the guidance of the department neurologist by executing the following responsibilities with compassion and efficiency.


Conduct thorough patient assessments, perform comprehensive physical evaluations, and gather patient medical information, including health history and examination results in various settings.

Order and/or administer relevant diagnostic and laboratory tests suitable for neurological patients and interpret the findings.


Formulate and execute patient management strategies, document progress notes, finalize discharge summaries, and aid in ensuring continuity of care.

Participate in inpatient hospital rounds and emergency department consultations.

Perform lumbar punctures.

Respond to code stroke situations, order imaging studies, and gather patient history from emergency department personnel and family members.

Provide telehealth consultations.

Act as a Sub-Primary Investigator; evaluate patients for potential participation in research studies.

Credentialed across all Mercyhealth facilities.

Work a 7 on, 7 off schedule with 12-hour shifts.

Qualifications:
We welcome applications from both experienced and newly graduated Nurse Practitioners.

Graduate from an accredited Master of Science in Nursing program.

Possess a current Illinois Registered Nurse license.

Hold a current Illinois Advanced Practice Registered Nurse license.

Have an active DEA number.

Wisconsin license preferred, required to obtain upon hire.

Other certifications as necessary.

Exhibit strong collaboration skills and self-motivation.

Demonstrate effective communication abilities when interacting with patients, their families, and colleagues.
