The APN's responsibilities encompass clinical practice, education, and research, including but not limited to chemotherapy education, performing bone marrow biopsies, and monitoring cancer patients. The APN is proficient in providing care and guidance to individuals affected by medical oncology and hematologic disorders, as well as those at risk for hereditary cancers.
Job Specifics
- Oncology and hematology specialists at this Cancer Care Center are seeking a certified and licensed advanced practice nurse to engage in full-time patient care across both inpatient and outpatient settings.
- The work schedule is primarily Monday through Friday, with no weekend obligations.
- Services provided include intravenous chemotherapy, adherence programs for oral chemotherapy, clinical trials, radiation therapy, genetic counseling for high-risk cancer patients, and survivorship programs.
- This modern cancer center offers comprehensive patient care support services, including social work, nutritional guidance, financial assistance, pastoral care, palliative care, navigation services, counseling, and support groups.
- The center is accredited by the Commission on Cancer and the Quality Oncology Practice Initiative.
- All providers are board-certified in oncology specialties.
- This vibrant city is recognized for its arts-friendly environment and boasts a population exceeding 400,000 residents.
- Residents enjoy a variety of recreational amenities, including parks, golf courses, riverfront activities, and water sports.

- As a level one trauma center, it is supported by trauma surgeons, surgical oncologists, a hospitalist group, a Regional Heart Institute, and a dedicated Women's Center.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: Must be licensed to provide Advanced Practice Nurse Services or Physician Assistant Services. Must hold licensure from the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration and the State of Illinois for the prescription of controlled substances.
