Senior Accountant

Position Overview:

The Senior Accountant operates with a significant level of autonomy in executing financial and accounting tasks for the organization. This role demands strong analytical capabilities and sound judgment to navigate complex financial scenarios.

The successful candidate will utilize established accounting principles to assess financial data and will be tasked with preparing necessary journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy and completeness of financial reports.

Experienced/Senior Staff

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and analyze Accounts Receivable reconciliations, collaborating with the AR/Credit team to resolve any discrepancies promptly.
  • Compile and analyze Bank Reconciliations, working closely with the Accounting team to address any unusual reconciling items.
  • Understand and generate quarterly reserve reconciliation reports.
  • Review and reconcile Ecommerce reports against the ERP system.
  • Conduct account reconciliations, account analyses, accrual calculations, and other related financial documentation.
  • Assist with Commissions reconciliation as needed.
  • Prepare complex journal entries with a focus on accuracy.
  • Ensure compliance with established policies and procedures in record maintenance.
  • Meet all reporting deadlines consistently.
  • Lead initiatives to enhance processes and reporting requirements within the department.
  • Guarantee accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and year-end closing processes.
  • Document policies, procedures, and workflows for assigned responsibilities.
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned by the department.
  • Safeguard financial information by maintaining confidentiality.
Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 6 years of experience in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively, taking on challenging tasks.
  • Proficient in managing multiple projects in a deadline-driven setting.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
  • Effective planning and organizational skills.
  • Strategic and tactical thinking abilities.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and auditing practices.
  • Familiarity with JDE is a plus.
Education:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.
