Overview

As the Nursing Supervisor within our Emergency Services division at Catholic Health Initiatives, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a dedicated team of frontline nurses. Your position will serve as a vital link between these caregivers, departmental managers, and executive leadership. You will effectively communicate the organization's objectives to the nursing staff as we strive to enhance patient experiences, engage with our community, and provide exceptional care. Simultaneously, you will advocate for your team by addressing their concerns, requests, and innovative ideas with leadership.

To excel in this position, you must possess both competence and confidence. Your strong communication skills will be essential, whether in one-on-one interactions or group settings. You will navigate challenging discussions and, above all, embody the role of an educator. Every engagement is an opportunity to impart your knowledge, enhancing the understanding of patient needs, nursing staff requirements, and organizational goals.

Responsibilities

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Supervising a team of nurses, ensuring they have the necessary resources to provide optimal patient care.
  • Engaging actively on the floor, communicating with nurses, patients, and families to maintain a smooth operational flow.
  • Participating in leadership meetings to stay informed about new initiatives, budgetary considerations, and areas for improvement, and relaying this information back to your nursing team.
  • Monitoring attendance and identifying any patterns of missed shifts that may require intervention.
  • Assessing departmental productivity and efficiency, including budget management, to achieve the best outcomes without compromising care quality.
  • Mentoring team members, sharing your expertise and confidence with assistant nurse managers, charge nurses, and others, fostering their development into future nursing supervisors.

Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you should possess:

  • A Bachelor of Nursing (BSN) Degree.
  • A Registered Nurse License from the state of North Dakota or a compact license valid in North Dakota.
  • A minimum of three (3) years of ER RN experience and one (1) year of leadership experience, or a Master's Degree with no prior experience.
  • Certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Trauma Nurse Core Course (TNCC).
  • Established leadership capabilities and knowledge of coaching and mentoring best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous supervisory experience in a Critical Access Hospital is advantageous.

Compensation

The pay range for this position is $33.6 - $48.73 per hour.
