Job Summary

This position is responsible for the fabrication and repair of dental prosthetic appliances in a clinical setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with dental laboratory materials and equipment, and will be able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Key Responsibilities
  • Fabricate and repair dental prosthetic appliances, including full dentures, removable partial dentures, and fixed partial dentures
  • Use dental laboratory materials such as impression materials, plasters, stones, hydrocolloids, waxes, metals, acrylics, and porcelain
  • Operate dental laboratory equipment such as hand tools, dental lathes, engines, and hand pieces, furnaces, casting machines, presses, flasks, and related equipment
  • Use precision instruments such as articulators, surveyors, and microanalyzers
  • Construct dental prosthetic appliances and ensure accurate and timely completion of tasks
  • Maintain accurate records of metal usage and patient information
  • Collaborate with dentists and other healthcare professionals to design and fabricate complex dental appliances
Requirements
  • One year of specialized experience in dental laboratory technology, including experience with dental laboratory materials and equipment
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects, including plaster boxes weighing 30 pounds
  • Regular exposure to potential hazards of plaster dust, fire, chemical exposure, and communicable diseases
Working Conditions

This position requires regular and recurring exposure to potential hazards of plaster dust, fire, chemical exposure, and communicable diseases. The lab technician will wear face masks, protective glasses, and use special aseptic techniques when handling impressions or other items that are a potential infection hazard.
