Job Title: Mental Health Counselor - Housing Specialist

At YWCA NENY, we are seeking a skilled Mental Health Counselor - Housing Specialist to join our team. This role plays a vital part in providing essential support to individuals grappling with homelessness, domestic violence, and other housing-related challenges.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct customized counseling sessions to address mental health issues.
  • Employ evidence-based methods to support clients with anxiety, depression, and trauma.
  • Provide crisis intervention and immediate support to clients in need.
  • Collaborate with housing and clinical teams to develop holistic client support plans.
  • Maintain detailed documentation of client interactions and progress.

Requirements:

  • Master's degree in social work, mental health counseling, or a related field.
  • NY State licensure and 4+ years of relevant experience.
  • Maintain current licensure or a valid permit in mental health counseling or social work.

Physical Requirements:

  • Tolerance for high noise levels.
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, sitting, and computer usage.
