Key Responsibilities: The Fraud Analysis Specialist plays a crucial role in providing comprehensive fraud mitigation support as part of the Fraud Prevention and Investigations Team. Key duties include conducting routine to complex fraud investigations, preparing suspicious activity reports, and monitoring fraud detection systems across various payment channels. This role also involves investigating and processing Regulation E Claims (ACH/Debit Card Disputes). The position demands the ability to make significant decisions in a dynamic environment, with team members empowered to exercise professional judgment in case analysis. Fraud Analysis Specialists are expected to cross-train on all departmental functions.
- Experience:
- In-depth understanding and proven execution of best practices in conducting fraud investigations, including knowledge of fund recovery processes.
- Basic knowledge of regulatory requirements related to fraud investigations, such as the Bank Secrecy Act, UCC, Regulation CC, Regulation E, and Gram-Leach-Bliley.
- Demonstrated professionalism and confidence in conducting interviews with victims, witnesses, and suspects.
- Ability to balance risk management with customer experience considerations.
- Strong multitasking abilities while remaining adaptable to ongoing changes in the fraud landscape.
- Effective communication skills to engage with potential fraud victims or suspects during the validation of high-risk financial activities.
- Leadership:
- Drive positive change within the organization through effective communication of critical issues.
- Set a positive example by participating in continuous education opportunities, such as conferences and training, to stay updated on evolving fraud trends.
- Support new bank initiatives by identifying fraud risks and developing mitigation strategies.
- Analytical Skills:
- Proficient in utilizing various systems and Microsoft Excel to analyze fraudulent activities and patterns.
- Identify opportunities for enhancing internal policies and controls through fraud case analysis.
- Employ multiple tools and systems to identify, investigate, and mitigate fraud.
- Technical Writing:
- Ability to produce comprehensive yet concise case reports to meet departmental and regulatory standards.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in fraud investigation, preferably within the financial services sector.
- Thorough knowledge of industry concepts, practices, and procedures, particularly regarding interviews and regulatory reporting.
- Exhibit self-confidence with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficient in office applications, including MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
