About the Role

As a School Bus Driver with First Student, you will play a vital role in safely transporting students to and from school. Our team of professional drivers is dedicated to providing exceptional service and ensuring the well-being of our passengers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Operate a school bus in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to all traffic laws and regulations
  • Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure the bus is in good working condition
  • Assist students with boarding and exiting the bus, providing support and guidance as needed
  • Work collaboratively with other drivers and support staff to ensure seamless transportation services
What We Offer
  • A competitive starting wage of $35 per route, with opportunities for additional hours and charter routes
  • A $1,500 sign-on bonus for new drivers (conditions apply)
  • Medical, dental, and vision benefits, as well as a 401(k) retirement savings plan
  • Paid CDL training and a guaranteed number of hours per week
  • A child ride-along program and a supportive work environment
Requirements
  • At least 19 years old and a valid driver's license for at least 3 years
  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work well with students and colleagues
  • Subject to a drug screen and physical, as well as DOT drug testing
