Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Banquet & Events Manager to join our team at Eastwardho. As a key member of our hospitality team, you will be responsible for promoting our facilities for private banquets, business meetings, and social events.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute contracts for private events, ensuring seamless execution and exceeding client expectations.
  • Collaborate with the Restaurant Manager to plan and execute club events, private events, and other functions.
  • Oversee all administrative and operational aspects of private events, including communication, contracting, planning, and execution.
  • Assist members and clients in all aspects of banquet events, working closely with the Executive Chef and other culinary personnel.
  • Generate detailed Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) and distribute to each department, ensuring accurate room set-ups and function details.
  • Work with the Executive Chef, Restaurant Manager, and Clubhouse Manager to determine selling prices, menus, and other details for catered events.
  • Inspect finished arrangements and check function sheets against actual room set-ups to ensure accuracy.
  • Update club banquet menus and maintain accuracy of catering system.
  • Schedule and conduct pre-event meetings with staff, ensuring a smooth and successful event.
  • Address member and guest complaints, advising the Clubhouse Manager on corrective actions.
  • Act as liaison between front and back of house during service, ensuring seamless execution.
  • Monitor safety conditions and employees' conformance with safety rules and procedures.
  • Practice good appearance and personal hygiene, adhering to the highest standards of professionalism.
  • Assist with development of departmental budget, ensuring fiscal responsibility.
  • Work with Restaurant Manager and supervisor(s) to conduct monthly beverage inventory, maintaining accurate records.
  • Ensure all legal requirements are consistently adhered to, including state and local laws pertaining to alcoholic beverages.
  • Perform Clubhouse/Restaurant opening and closing duties as needed, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability.
  • Provide general support to the Clubhouse Manager and complete other tasks as needed, demonstrating a commitment to teamwork.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field of study or University degree in Hospitality Management or Culinary Arts (recommended).
  • 3-5 years of experience as a food & beverage manager, events coordinator, or similar position in a high-end service environment.
  • Experience in a member-owned club is highly desirable.
  • Leadership, strong communication, interpersonal, computer literacy, and social skills are essential.
  • Displaying behavior of honesty and integrity, high-level ethical standards, personable, values teamwork and member service, and respectful of others.
  • Ability to stand for long periods, walk, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, and twist or reach, as well as push, pull, or lift up to 50 pounds.
