The University of Cincinnati College of Medicine is actively seeking Certified Anesthesiologist Assistants to deliver anesthetic services under the supervision of a qualified physician anesthesiologist. The role encompasses gathering patient information, conducting thorough evaluations, and administering as well as documenting the anesthetic care plan. This position is integral to the University’s mission of promoting excellence in medical education and patient care.
Key Responsibilities- Accurately collect and document a comprehensive pre-anesthetic health history, perform physical assessments, and ensure legible record-keeping.
- Conduct diagnostic laboratory tests, interpret data from monitoring devices, and administer anesthetic agents under the guidance of a supervising physician.
- Perform post-anesthesia patient evaluations, manage critical situations, and fulfill responsibilities across various clinical environments.
- Engage in clinical teaching and undertake additional duties as required by departmental needs.
A Master's Degree in an Anesthesiologist Assistant program or a related discipline is required.
Certifications and Training- Current certification from the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA).
- Possession of a Certificate of Authority to practice as a C-AA in Ohio by the commencement of employment.
- Frequent repetitive hand motions (such as typing).
- Regularly required to stand, talk, walk, reach overhead, and lift items up to 20 pounds.
- Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, squat, crouch, pull, or push.
- Rarely required to lift weights up to 50 pounds.
