About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our R&D Organization at Waters Corporation. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing complex mechanical systems for our products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and develop mechanical systems to meet complex requirements, including mechanical, electrical, and software components.
  • Evaluate and qualify mechanical, electronic, or electro-mechanical components, materials, assemblies, processes, and equipment.
  • Troubleshoot product, subsystem, or component problems discovered in manufacturing or by customers in the field and produce design changes to address the problems.
  • Redesign existing products to reduce cost, improve performance, increase manufacturability, and reliability using Design for Manufacture (DFM) methodology.
  • Provide technical support to manufacturing, marketing, purchasing, and customer assurance for a wide variety of products to ensure conformance to company and customer requirements.
  • May provide mentoring and direction to more junior engineers.
  • Broadly utilize and good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) principles.
  • Prepare, follow through with, and present design and drawing reviews.
  • Work closely with New Product Introduction (NPI) to support the smooth transition of design into volume manufacturing.
Qualifications
  • Education: Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years industry experience in design and analysis of precision mechanical/electromechanical components/assemblies for volume production.
  • Experience with Solidworks preferred.
  • Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA), ANSYS preferred.
  • Experience with Altium preferred.
  • Experience with MATLAB, Python, C/C++.
