Job Overview

As a Mechanical Design Engineer, you will be an integral part of a specialized team responsible for updating technical data packages for missile and pod systems. This role involves a comprehensive 24-month project aimed at preparing for the full-scale production of essential hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

- Collaborate with a small team to implement necessary design modifications and cost-effective changes.
- Facilitate supplier ramp-up to ensure initial production readiness.
- Work under the guidance of a Lead Design Engineer, engaging with various support functions including Stress Analysis, Materials and Processes, Testing, Production, and senior Mechanical Engineers to enhance the technical data package (TDP) for production release.

Qualifications:

Essential Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
- Relevant experience aligned with the position level.
- Proficiency in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Experience in 3D CAD modeling and drafting.
- Proven track record as an individual contributor.
- Familiarity with formal drawing release processes and configuration management.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong performance in collaborative team settings.
- Experience in missile or rocket programs.
- Proficiency in Creo CAD software.
- Familiarity with Windchill Product Data Management (PDM) software.

Work Environment:

This position will initially require full-time onsite presence to facilitate acclimatization to the role, team dynamics, and hardware interfaces. Following this orientation period, remote work options may be available based on performance.
