Furniture Sales and Operations Manager Job Description

At Big Lots, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Furniture Sales and Operations Manager to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to lead our furniture department to success by driving sales, improving operations, and providing exceptional customer service.

About the Role:
As a Furniture Sales and Operations Manager, you will be responsible for leading our furniture team to achieve sales targets, maintaining high standards of merchandising, presentation, and recovery, and ensuring excellent customer experiences. Your strong leadership skills and ability to motivate your team will be crucial in driving business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the furniture team to achieve sales targets and improve operational efficiency
- Develop and implement strategies to improve merchandise presentation, signage, and recovery standards
- Ensure that all team members receive comprehensive training on furniture products, sales techniques, and customer service best practices
- Collaborate with store leadership to drive overall store performance and achieve business objectives
- Manage the price hold process, including weekly audits, to ensure accurate pricing and inventory control
- Maintain high standards of inventory management, including cycle counts, to maximize sales and turnover
- Identify display needs and plan for adequate coverage during special events
- Strive to continually improve sales performance and maintain high levels of customer satisfaction
- Serve as Manager on Duty, providing leadership and direction to floor associates and ensuring that store, merchandising, and customer service standards are met

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent work experience required
- Minimum one year retail sales experience preferred
- Demonstrated furniture merchandising and sales skills preferred
- Strong customer service and communication skills required
- Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull a minimum of 50 pounds required
- Availability to work a variable schedule of at least 30 hours per week, including nights, weekends, and holidays required

Estimated Salary: $60,000 - $80,000 per year
