Our Power Delivery team is seeking a skilled Substation Project Manager/Team Lead to join our growing and nationally ranked team in Ann Arbor, MI. This role will be responsible for executing and managing all aspects of substation projects of all sizes and complexity, including scope and/or proposal development, project team development and assignment, project execution, project closeout, and quality control, schedule, and budget management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute project plans, including scope, schedule, and budget management.
  • Grow a local team of engineers and technicians to support projects and engage in business development activities to support existing and new clients in the region.
  • Coordinate the work of engineers and the balance of the team throughout an entire project life cycle.
  • Implement project management tools and techniques, including Work Breakdown Structures, project scope, schedule, and budget, project initiation in HDR systems, Project Management Plans, financial management and controls, including earned value, and project closeout.
  • Coordinate with Area leadership for project reviews and with company management as needed.
  • Coordinate with marketing and technical leadership for business development.
  • Implement the HDR Quality Management Systems (QMS) requirements, processes, and procedures.
  • Direct, mentor, train, and/or supervise one or more transmission APM's, Project Engineers and/or junior design staff.


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience and client relationships in Michigan considered a strong advantage.
  • Track record of working cooperatively with diverse teams; regional, department, and technical managers; and project staff preferred.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, together with experience using project management tools, such as MSProject, a plus.
  • Experience working with Renewables developers and/or the interconnection of Renewables a plus.
  • Master's degree.
  • PMP certification.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • 7 years related experience.
  • A minimum of 2 years project management experience.
  • Ability to interact with various design teams, excellent organizational, project management, and communication (both written and verbal) skills.
  • Attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture.
