Fire Science Educator Position

Western Nevada College is seeking a part-time, temporary Fire Science Educator. We are continuously accepting applications to build a pool of candidates for future openings.

Qualifications:

  • Associate of Science degree in Fire Science or a related discipline from an accredited institution, or a comparable mix of education and professional experience.
  • Possession of necessary certifications as mandated by the National Fire Protection Agency (NFPA) and/or the Nevada State Fire Marshals Office.
  • Submission of required certification documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver both theoretical and practical courses, with potential assignments across various campuses, including daytime, evening, and weekend sessions.
  • Create and organize course materials and syllabi.
  • Assess student proficiency in skills.
  • Work in collaboration with the EMS & Paramedic Program Coordinator and the Nevada State Fire Marshals Office.

Important Note:

Newly appointed faculty members must ensure that their official academic transcripts are forwarded to the Human Resources Office at Western Nevada College within 30 calendar days from their employment start date. Degrees must be conferred by accredited institutions. Employment is subject to successful completion of background verification by the Human Resources office.
