Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Grocery Assistant Department Manager to join our team at Festival Foods. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for supporting the Grocery Department Manager in leading the Grocery Stocker team and ensuring that department goals and objectives are met.

Responsibilities:
  • Lead, support, teach, and reinforce Festival culture, guest service, and performance expectations to all Grocery associates.
  • Collaborate with the Grocery Department Manager to maintain adequate staffing levels; assist with interviews, extend job offers, and ensure thorough training for new and current associates.
  • Assist with weekly work schedule approvals and collaborate on associate performance reviews, addressing any policy violations with the HR Manager and Grocery Department Manager as needed.
  • Contribute to store sales and profitability by effectively assisting with all aspects of Grocery Department operations, including labor, expenses, pricing, stock levels, merchandising, and guest service.

Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 per year, depending on experience. Benefits include an industry-leading 15% discount on grocery purchases, weekly pay, and premium pay on Sundays and select holidays.

Requirements:
  • High school education or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 2+ years of leadership experience (manager or lead) in retail, grocery, warehouse, or restaurant preferred.
  • Thorough knowledge of the retail food business, especially non-perishable department operations, and strong merchandising skills.
  • Familiarity with store operations and the ability to coordinate effectively with store and vendor teams.
