Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our team at the City of Littleton. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for performing a variety of building maintenance and repair tasks, including HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems maintenance and repair. You will also be responsible for performing routine maintenance and repair of various modern and historic buildings on the Museum property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems
  • Perform routine maintenance and repair of various modern and historic buildings on the Museum property
  • Assist with the set-up and teardown of furnishings and fixtures for meetings and special events
  • Respond to emergency calls to make temporary or permanent repairs or adjustments to city buildings, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, or mechanical systems
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships and interactions with supervisors, other city employees, vendors, and the public through oral and written communications
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • One year of work experience in facilities maintenance or a related field
  • Valid driver's license
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment criminal background check and motor vehicle records check, drug screen, and physical
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in a municipality and/or museum
  • Experience in the maintenance of a public building
  • Experience in maintaining historical structures
  • Experience in building museum exhibits
Working Environment and Physical Activities

The physical requirements of this position include the performance of heavy work that includes but is not limited to lifting, carrying, pushing or pulling objects weighing up to 150 pounds with or without assistance. Long periods of sitting, standing or walking may be required. Work is primarily performed indoors in an office, mechanical and equipment areas of city buildings. Outdoor work is conducted in mechanical and equipment areas including rooftops of city buildings.
