Job Overview:

This role entails executing advanced diagnostics, inspections, and mechanical repairs on electrical, electronic, and hydraulic systems across a diverse range of automotive and heavy construction machinery.

Key Responsibilities:
* Conduct thorough diagnostics and repairs on gasoline and diesel-powered internal combustion engines, addressing operational, mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues of equipment.
* Perform inspections on various automotive and heavy construction machinery, adhering to safety protocols and scheduled preventative maintenance checklists.
* Carry out preventative maintenance and service/repair tasks on-site utilizing a mobile repair/lube truck.
* Operate vehicles and equipment that necessitate a commercial driver's license.
* Fabricate and modify equipment as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
Knowledge:
* Proficient in power/drive train system inspection, diagnosis, and repair methodologies.
* Familiarity with electrical systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair techniques.
* Understanding of electronic control systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair practices.
* Competence in using computerized diagnostic analyzers.
* Knowledge of hydraulic systems inspection, diagnosis, and repair processes.
* Insight into the operating principles of gasoline and diesel-powered internal combustion engines.
* Awareness of fleet maintenance shop safety principles and practices.
* Record-keeping principles and practices.
* Skills in cutting, welding, and fabrication.

Skills:
* Expertise in repairing and maintaining mechanical, electrical, electronic, and automotive/heavy construction equipment.
* Proficient in operating computerized diagnostic analyzer equipment.
* Ability to estimate time and costs associated with repair and maintenance tasks for various automotive/heavy construction equipment.
* Capable of scheduling and coordinating service and repair tasks to optimize equipment utilization.

Abilities:
* Follow both oral and written instructions effectively.
* Interpret repair manuals, service bulletins, and recall notifications.
* Utilize PC and software programs such as Google Workspace and Microsoft Office proficiently.
* Manage time efficiently.
* Lift up to 50 lbs and push/pull 90 lbs; successfully pass a physical examination.

Preferred Qualifications:
* A minimum of three years of journey-level experience in diagnosing and repairing light, medium, and heavy-duty trucks and/or construction equipment.
* Automotive Service of Excellence (ASE) Master Certification in Medium-Heavy Duty Truck is preferred but not mandatory.
* EPA Section 609 Certification or the capability to obtain this certification within six months of employment.
* Candidates must possess their own tools for the role.

Pre-Employment Conditions:
* Employment is contingent upon passing a medical/physical examination.
* The position requires a valid Class B CDL or the ability to secure one within six months of employment. Retention of this license and any endorsements is necessary throughout employment. Additional endorsements may be required to fulfill shop mission requirements.
