Job Description

The Plant Operator Trainee is an entry-level position that provides training and development opportunities in the operation of power generation facilities. As a Plant Operator Trainee, you will work under the guidance of experienced operators to learn the essential job functions of the position. These functions include:

  1. Performing maintenance during outages to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the facility.
  2. Conducting housekeeping activities to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
  3. Performing other duties as assigned, including attaining a thorough working knowledge of equipment, procedures, policies, and safety rules through active participation in training programs.
  4. Completing requirements as a Plant Operator Trainee and being responsible for the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and surveillance of designated turbine/generator auxiliaries, steam generator auxiliaries, and other assigned plant auxiliary equipment.
  5. Rotating through the operating areas to maintain knowledge of plant systems and assist with drafting and updating operating procedures.
Required Skills and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • An Associate Degree or two-year diploma in a directly related field or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience.
  • A background in industrial operations, computer software, maintenance, electrical or instrumentation.
  • Basic mechanical, critical thinking, and reading comprehension skills.
  • The ability to read and understand procedures, blueprints, and technical information.
  • Computer literacy and the ability to navigate through Windows-based programs.
  • A valid driver's license.
Benefits
