Position Title: Advocate/Navigator at Community Concepts

Are you prepared to play a vital role in empowering communities and individuals to enhance their resilience?

Community Concepts is seeking an Advocate/Navigator to serve as a key resource for individuals and families impacted by recent traumatic experiences. The Maine Resiliency Center, created in response to a significant incident, offers essential support and resources to those in need. This role is temporary, with a duration of up to 23 months, and may have the possibility of extension.

Compensation Range: $25.00-$27.00 per hour, commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide thorough case management assistance to individuals and families, while also supporting center operations and initiatives.
  • Utilize a trauma-informed methodology in all aspects of work conducted at the center.
  • Perform needs assessments and keep care plans updated to reflect progress towards established goals.
  • Remain knowledgeable about program offerings, investigate external community resources, and provide necessary information and referrals.
  • Participate in community outreach efforts to support individuals and families as needed.
  • Document all pertinent interactions and data as directed by the center director.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in social work or a related discipline, along with ideally three years of relevant experience.
  • Experience as a Victim Advocate is a plus.

Additional Requirements: Candidates should have experience working with trauma-affected populations, possess strong advocacy and problem-solving skills, and have a solid understanding of social service programs. Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, patience, empathy, and the capacity to remain calm in crisis situations are crucial. Proficiency in computer skills for accurate data management is required. Pre-employment screenings and background checks are necessary, along with a valid driver's license and readiness to travel within the service area.
