Key Responsibilities
  • Drive business development efforts by acquiring new clients and fostering relationships with existing ones, leading proposal initiatives, and executing a strategic business development plan;
  • Oversee task and project management, ensuring effective planning and execution of investigation and remediation projects, managing budgets, adhering to timelines, maintaining quality, ensuring client satisfaction, and achieving profitability;
  • Provide guidance and mentorship to junior staff while managing subcontractors;
  • Develop work plans, evaluate data, and produce reports;
  • Conduct data analysis, including creating maps and figures using GIS/Environmental Visualization Software (EVS) applications, and managing databases;
  • Prepare technical documentation such as reports, letters, memoranda, plans, specifications, and proposals;
  • Review and manage the production of written documents;
  • Engage in meetings with clients, regulatory personnel, and other stakeholders;
  • Conduct fieldwork, including multi-media environmental sampling, sediment sampling and characterization, drilling oversight, contractor management, and remediation system operations, maintenance, and construction;
  • Lead multi-disciplinary project teams;
  • Assume responsibility for scoping, executing, managing, and delivering multiple concurrent project assignments;
  • Support lead generation, business development, staff development, and mentoring in alignment with our sell-manage-do business model;
  • Enhance our reputation through publishing and participating in prominent industry conferences.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, geology, or a related field (required);
  • Advanced degree in a relevant discipline (preferred);
  • Professional registration (e.g., P.G.) (required);
Experience and Skills
  • A minimum of 7 years of direct experience in environmental consulting or a comparable combination of education and experience (required);
  • Experience working with multi-disciplinary project teams (required);
  • Proven track record in client development and management (required);
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities (required);
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple project assignments, meeting strict deadlines, and traveling to client sites as necessary (required);
  • Regional visibility through involvement in professional associations or trade organizations (preferred);
  • Willingness to engage in regular fieldwork and overnight travel (required);
  • Current OSHA 40-hr HAZWOPER training and refreshers (preferred);
  • Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and client-driven drug and background testing may be required;
  • A valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel (required).
