Affordable Housing Tax Credit Lawyer Position

GPAC is seeking an experienced Low-Income Housing Tax Credits Attorney to join their dynamic team and contribute to fostering affordable housing initiatives. With a strong focus on delivering exceptional results, this role offers the opportunity to grow professionally and make a meaningful impact.
Salary: $200,000 - $250,000 per year, based on experience and qualifications.
About the Role:
We are currently looking for a skilled attorney with a minimum of 7 years of experience in Low-Income Housing Tax Credit transactions. The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of LIHTC regulations, tax laws, and real estate transactions, as well as strong analytical, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
Responsibilities:
- Providing expert legal counsel on Low-Income Housing Tax Credit transactions, including due diligence and compliance with LIHTC regulations.
- Drafting and negotiating agreements related to affordable housing projects, ensuring seamless transaction execution.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate successful transactions, leveraging expertise in tax credit structuring and financing options.
- Advising clients on optimal tax credit strategies, balancing business objectives with regulatory requirements.
- Evaluating and mitigating risks associated with complex transactions, ensuring maximum value for clients.
Requirements:
- Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school, with a proven track record in LIHTC transactions.
- Active membership in the New York State Bar, demonstrating commitment to ongoing professional development.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience practicing as a LIHTC Attorney, with expertise in tax laws and real estate transactions.
- In-depth knowledge of LIHTC regulations, tax laws, and real estate transactions, combined with exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities, with a proven ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
