As a vital member of our team, the Patient Service Specialist is the first point of contact for patients entering our facility. You will be responsible for managing both patient interactions and administrative tasks, serving as a patient advocate and facilitator of care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Welcome and assist new and returning patients upon arrival, guiding them through the registration process and explaining what to expect during their visit.
- Schedule appointments for patients, both in-person and via phone, ensuring an efficient booking process.
- Maintain regular communication with various stakeholders, including healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other relevant parties.
- Process patient payments, manage insurance verifications, and handle co-pay collections with accuracy.
- Provide patients with essential information regarding their upcoming appointments as they complete their visit.
- Address inquiries from patients, healthcare providers, and colleagues promptly and professionally.
Qualifications:
Minimum Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least one year of experience in a front desk or customer service role within a healthcare setting.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to walk, stand, bend, and reach consistently throughout the workday.
- Manual dexterity sufficient for typing and data entry tasks.
- Capability to lift and carry items up to 25 lbs safely.
- Visual acuity to maintain accurate records and recognize individuals.
- Effective communication skills to understand and provide directions.
