Transmission Specialist

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transmission Technician to join our High Volume Service Department at Schepel Buick GMC. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing transmission repairs with efficiency and accuracy, diagnosing malfunctions, and ensuring customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities:

• Transmission Repair: Perform transmission repair as outlined on repair order with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory time allowances and standards.
• Diagnosis: Diagnose cause of malfunction and identify necessary repairs.
• Repair and Maintenance: Remove and disassemble transmission unit, perform repair, and install repaired transmission, replace fluids, and make appropriate adjustments.
• Quality Control: Examine vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required and advise service advisor immediately if additional work is needed.
• Communication: Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts, save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer.
• Documentation: Document work performed and recommended on the repair order.
• Training and Development: Attend manufacturer-sponsored training classes and keep abreast of manufacturer technical bulletins.
• Teamwork: Supervise work of any apprentice technicians as assigned and report machinery defects or malfunctions to supervisor.
• Customer Service: Ensure that customers' cars are kept clean and notify service advisor immediately of anything that has happened to change the appearance or condition of the vehicle.

Requirements:

• Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
• License: Unrestricted driver's license and clean driving record.
• Skills: Neat, clean, and professional appearance, able to work independently with minimal supervision, highly professional and dependable, safety and customer service oriented, able to bend, kneel, squat, stand, and lift heavy objects as needed.
