Key Responsibilities

As an Educational Support Specialist, your responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting in delivering high-quality programming and educational focus in assigned classrooms.
  • Maintaining consistent supervision of children in the classroom.
  • Encouraging active participation and engagement with children.
  • Helping to maintain a clean, safe, and caring classroom environment.
  • Collaborating with the lead teacher to ensure adequate supplies and resources are available.
  • Supporting the Lead Teacher in planning, evaluating, and implementing educational programs.
  • Preparing the classroom environment with materials in accordance with weekly plans.
  • Implementing age-appropriate developmental and cultural activities.
  • Assisting with classroom progress reports as needed.
  • Participating in the response to intervention (RIT) process.
  • Identifying and addressing children's individual differences and needs, adjusting curriculum and environment as necessary.
  • Serving as a backup to the Lead Teacher when required.
  • Monitoring classroom management aspects such as size, ratio, attendance, mealtime, and schedules.
  • Participating in classroom transition processes.
  • Adhering to and enforcing company policies and procedures.
  • Ensuring consistent customer satisfaction to maximize enrollment potential.
  • Following all required business management practices.
  • Exhibiting enthusiasm and a nurturing demeanor at all times.
  • Contributing to team efforts to achieve the company's vision.
  • Maintaining a minimum of twenty-four (24) professional development hours or eight (8) college credits each year.

Education and Experience

A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with one year (1,250 hours; 2,500 hours in lieu of a degree) of experience, or an Associate's degree in Child Development or credits towards obtaining an Associate's or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education (ECE). Alternatively, forty-five (45) professional development hours or three (3) to six (6) ECE credits are also acceptable qualifications. Successful candidates will demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills, creativity in problem-solving, and a basic understanding of MS Office.
