Volunteer Opportunity: Hospice Care

At Affinity Care of Virginia, we are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team of volunteers who provide care and support to patients and their families during the final stages of life.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide companionship to patients and caregivers through regular visits or phone calls
  • Assist with office support tasks at our Roanoke, VA office
  • Pick up groceries and supplies for patients and deliver them
  • Deliver blankets to patients through our Affinity Care Blanket program
  • Help the Volunteer Coordinator with various tasks

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Familiarity with end-of-life care is a plus, but not required
  • Orientation is approximately 8 hours and can be completed online or in person
  • Must have a passion for helping others and preserving confidentiality
  • Background check and TB screening are required and paid for by Affinity Care Hospice & Palliative Care
