Abbott Laboratories is seeking a highly skilled Manufacturing Technician II to join our Cardiac Rhythm Management division in Minnetonka, MN. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for supporting manufacturing operations, addressing quality and safety issues, and collaborating with the Engineering team to maintain lab space and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Provide daily support to manufacturing activities to meet established goals for safety, quality, yield, and attainment.
- Maintain inventory of spare tooling and equipment used in production, placing re-orders with internal and external suppliers as needed.
- Maintain manufacturing lab space and equipment, promoting organization and efficiency.
- Collect feedback from production operators and communicate with Engineering, Operations, and Quality personnel to drive improvements.
- Assist with yield investigations, including dissecting scrap devices and performing line observations to assess root causes of scrap.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities to promote efficiency on the manufacturing line, including executing time studies and sourcing alternative tooling and fixturing.
- Assist with implementing changes to production documentation and training production operators to equipment and process changes.
- Develop equipment specifications, calibration requirements, and preventative maintenance protocols for new equipment.
- Follow all site safety guidelines and use appropriate safety devices and personal protective equipment when performing work.
- High School Diploma or GED required; 2-year technical degree or certificate in electronics preferred.
- 0-2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in the medical device industry.
- Demonstrated experience in troubleshooting equipment, building, and testing electronic assemblies.
- Experience in GMP, ISO, and FDA-controlled environments preferred.
- Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.
- Multitasking, prioritization, and meeting deadlines in a timely manner.
- Strong organizational and follow-up skills, with attention to detail.
