Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead engineering design initiatives on large-scale, complex projects.
  • Utilize engineering expertise to design enhancements for roadways, streets, and highways.
  • Effectively communicate project ideas and designs through various mediums including drawings and reports.
  • Adhere to design standards while utilizing software such as MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and AutoCAD Civil 3D.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to identify and resolve potential conflicts.
  • Develop stakeholder presentations and exhibits.
  • Ensure accuracy and quality through coordination with project reviewers.
  • Meet project deadlines consistently.
  • Provide expertise in alignment, profile development, and construction estimates.
  • Oversee the creation and submission of technical documentation.
  • Coordinate project tasks with managers and fellow engineers.
  • Mentor junior engineers and technical staff.
  • Engage with clients and stakeholders to convey design elements and intent.
  • Assist project managers with technical and financial project aspects.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory.
  • Professional Engineering license in Utah or the ability to obtain it within six months of hire.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in roadway design is essential.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven interpersonal and customer service abilities.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience with MicroStation, OpenRoads Designer, and Microsoft Excel is required.
  • Familiarity with UDOT standards and specifications is preferred.
