The Lead Direct Support Professional Medical Specialist plays a vital role in assisting clients with daily living activities, personal care, and program implementation. This position is responsible for ensuring the daily well-being and safety of clients, while providing adequate supervision. The successful candidate will also assist with household maintenance and housekeeping, and be responsible for various tasks to support the home.
Key Responsibilities- Assist clients with daily cares, medical needs, and supports, including ADLs and mental health supports.
- Develop and implement daily routines that promote choice and independence for clients.
- Plan and implement recreation, leisure, and community activities that meet the needs and interests of clients.
- Drive clients to appointments and community activities, using a company vehicle during all hours of operation.
- Assist clients in establishing and maintaining community relationships and friendships.
- Provide person-centered services, demonstrated through practice, action, and language.
- Maintain accurate records of client information, including medication administration, treatment plans, and emergency procedures.
- Collaborate with the support team to develop and implement goals for clients.
- Ensure confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA and MORA policies and procedures.
- Must pass a Department of Human Services background check and maintain qualified status.
- Must not be excluded from working in government health programs by the Office of Inspector General.
- Must be able to successfully complete company's basic job skills assessments.
- Must have a valid current driver's license and vehicle insurance as required by state law.
- Successful completion of Medication Administration class, regularly passes medications using correct procedure without error.
