Position Overview:
We are looking for a committed and skilled Special Education Instructor to support our educational initiatives. This role is essential in delivering tailored educational experiences for students with varied learning requirements. It presents a valuable chance to influence students' lives positively and aid in their academic and personal development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and execute Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, collaborating closely with the IEP team.
  • Provide specialized instruction and interventions for students with disabilities, employing suitable teaching methods and adaptations.
  • Modify curriculum resources and instructional approaches to cater to individual student requirements and enhance their academic success.
  • Regularly evaluate students' educational advancement and adjust teaching strategies as necessary.
  • Work alongside general education instructors and other professionals to foster an inclusive educational atmosphere, ensuring that students' needs are addressed in the least restrictive setting.
  • Offer support and guidance to general education teachers in implementing necessary accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
  • Keep precise and current records of student progress, attendance, and other pertinent information.
  • Engage in regular communication with parents/guardians to share feedback on student development and address any concerns.
  • Participate in IEP meetings, team discussions, and professional development opportunities as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related discipline (Master's degree preferred).
  • Valid teaching certification in Special Education.
  • Experience working with students with diverse learning profiles, including those with specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
  • Familiarity with special education legislation and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
  • Strong grasp of evidence-based instructional methods and interventions for students with disabilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external partners.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail for maintaining accurate records and fulfilling administrative obligations.
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, and adhere to deadlines.
