We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Baptist Health. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing clinical support to our providers and ensuring the smooth operation of our clinical practices.
Key Responsibilities:- Coordinate direct patient care activities, including check-in, vital sign collection, and medication reconciliation.
- Provide clinical support to providers, including rooming patients, stocking clinic supplies, and navigating electronic health records.
- Communicate with pharmacies, insurance companies, patients, and physicians in a respectful and professional manner.
- Assist with scheduling appointments, medication fill and refill requests, and prior authorizations.
- Perform procedures such as EKG, phlebotomy, lab tests, and injections, as competency assessed.
- High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency.
- Basic computer skills, specifically with navigating databases containing highly confidential information.
- Basic Life Support and other advanced training as appropriate, within 90 days.
- One of the following: prior working experience in a medical office/clinic, Certified Medical Assistant from the National Health Career Association, or completed an MA education program.
- Current MA Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, AAMP.
- Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current Licensure without restrictions.
