Job OverviewCulinary Specialist - POSITION SUMMARY:

The Culinary Specialist is a vital member of the Food & Beverage Team, tasked with the preparation, cooking, and presentation of dishes. This role reports directly to the Executive Sous Chef or Executive Chef.

PRIMARY DUTIES:

1. Master assigned cooking stations and take ownership of personal actions and decisions.

2. Uphold exceptional service standards to meet the expectations of guests and team members.

3. Actively seek to enhance guest satisfaction; promptly address and resolve any issues that may arise.

4. Adhere to daily cleaning protocols to maintain a hygienic kitchen environment.

5. Demonstrate proficiency in food preparation, cooking, and serving techniques; ability to interpret cooking instructions is essential.

6. Prepare various proteins, including meat, fish, and poultry, ensuring proper cooking temperatures in a high-pressure setting.

7. Accurately measure and combine ingredients according to established recipes.

8. Utilize various cooking methods such as baking, roasting, broiling, and steaming; adjust oven and cooking equipment settings as needed.

9. Assess the quality of cooked items through taste, smell, and visual inspection.

10. Portion and plate food attractively, adding sauces and garnishes to complete orders.

11. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as necessary.

PERSONAL QUALITIES:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

- Current Food Handlers certification preferred.

- Ability to read and understand safety protocols, operational instructions, and procedural guidelines.

- Effective communication skills with team members.

- Strong problem-solving abilities and sound judgment in decision-making.

- Self-motivated, proactive, and a dedicated team player.

- Attention to detail and comfort in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.

- Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The physical demands outlined here represent those encountered by an employee while performing essential job functions.

- Regularly required to communicate effectively, taste and smell, and engage in physical activities such as standing, walking, bending, and lifting.

- Frequent hand washing is necessary, and the ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds is required.
