Location Overview:
Located just moments from a vibrant beach, shopping, and dining options, The Laylow, Autograph Collection Hotel, embodies a 1960s Hawaiian Modern aesthetic amidst lush gardens. This hotel captures the essence of a relaxed vacation atmosphere, transporting guests and staff back in time with authentic mid-century furnishings and decor. Centrally situated, it is a short stroll to the ocean, restaurants, shops, and nightlife, making it an ideal place to build your career in the hospitality industry.

Position Overview:

  • Exhibit strong teamwork abilities.
  • Efficiently deliver food to tables.
  • Prepare and clear tables, restock service stations, and assist servers to ensure complete guest satisfaction.
  • Swiftly clear used table settings and ready tables for the next guests.
  • Consistently reset service-ware as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and stock levels of service stations during all meal periods, ensuring necessary equipment is available.
  • Serve guests beverages, breads, and butter to enhance their dining experience and replenish as needed.
  • Adhere to "Teamwork" and "Clean as you go" practices.
  • Transport all used tableware to the dishwashing area for proper sanitation.
  • Participate in monthly departmental meetings.
  • Follow established standards and etiquette for room service deliveries.
  • Memorize table and seat numbers in the dining area and bar.
  • Complete opening and closing tasks as outlined for the food runner role.

Demonstrate Exceptional Teamwork Skills: This role involves collaboration with various team members.

Qualifications:

A High School Diploma or GED is required.

A year of experience in a restaurant setting is preferred but not mandatory.

Effective communication skills with guests, supervisors, and colleagues are essential.

Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekdays, weekends, AM, PM, split shifts, and holidays is necessary. This position primarily focuses on evening shifts.

Ability to manage guest requests and address complaints is required.

Safety Requirements:

Compliance with OSHA regulations necessitates the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when performing tasks that pose potential health or safety risks.

Mental/Reasoning Requirements:

Reading comprehension (simple and complex), basic math skills, and effective writing abilities.

Leadership and staff motivation skills, along with sound judgment and decision-making capabilities.

Other relevant skills as necessary.

Compensation:
The compensation for this role is $20.39 per hour, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
